Day 1: Cat and a bicycle
We'll explore simplifying a vibrant street scene, maintaining the key elements: a cat and a bicycle. We'll focus on capturing the essence with broad strokes and tonal values, learning to identify and paint the big shapes that convey the narrative.

Day 2: Dynamic Waterscape
We'll tackle a waterfall scene, starting from tonal value to a full painting. Learn the dry brush technique for rocks and dynamic water portrayal, and create the falling water effect with strategic dark rock placement.

Andy Evansen

  • Based in the USA, Wisconsin.
  • Andy Evansen began painting watercolors in the mid-1990s as a change of pace from his career as a medical illustrator.
  • He became a signature member of the prestigious Plein Air Painters of America (PAPA) in 2012 and served as their President.
  • Transparent Watercolor Society of America (TWSA), Signature Member, April 2018.
  • Salmagundi Club, Artist Member, 2017.
  • His paintings have won numerous awards, including the Bronze and High Winds Medals from the American Watercolor Society.
